i got my anthems and i know i read a thread about how the mark on the ski isnt actually at center b/c of the graphics stretching for different sizes and wahtnot. after examining my skis ive found that they are indeed off b/c when i put one ski upside down next to the other right side up the marks dont match up.

after hearing horror story's of mounting jobs gone wrong i am taking the safe route and marking center on my skis. now heres my question

since the anthems are symmetrical then measuring tip to tip would find the exact same center point as measuring for core center, like the furthest forward effective edge to the furthest back effective edge right? so like when i measure it out, going tip to tip and finding the midpoint will give me the center, where they are truly meant to be mounted right?

i tried the searchbar and found that core center and true center are different in other skis but the anthems are symmetrical so it shouldnt matter but i just wanted to make sure.

It doesn't fuckin matter, I got my Anthems mounted at the point it says and they are fine, if they are off it is by such a short amount it won't do shit.  I skied my Anthems today and they were fuckin sick, just ride them and enjoy them.  Everyone is so concerned about the most trivial shit they let it prevent them from having a fun ass time, and throwing down.  Don't let it get to your head that they are .090456 mm off, they ski hella good anyway.

its not like a made a huge deal about it dude chill, im just asking. i dont see why its should bother anyone that i want the mounted center when the factory likes dont match up my a little over a centimeter when ones upside down and they are compared. if you dont want to answer the question dont post man, no hate but its just pointless IMHO

I am on a rampage.  hahahahahaha   you nailed it!  Thank you.   If you are not sure, go with the manufacturers suggestion for thier recomendation for center, they are the experts!   if you go out and are bothered that you didn't make the right decision and if you reeeeeeally think it is goin gto improve your skiing then have them remounted.

Keep in mind that the center of your boot is not the center of your bodies mass  if you want the ski to really feel balanced under foot when you spin, I believe  (don't quote me) that you would need to actually mount the binding well forward of center.

Now consider the cant of your boot and how you ride or how you set yourself for a jump or rail. All of the positions forward and backward of the suggested mounting points start becoming a matter of personal preference

but yeah, i dont ahve them, but ive checked them out and what not and it seems that measuring tip to tip should give you center your looking for

one thing: i have heard that mounting a little back helps to offset heelpeice being heavier than toe peice when in comes to balance. i think its pretty trivial, but if your worried about it go like 1 cm back

If i had anthems though, i would just go dead center, or at most .5 cm back

I dunno if you were talking about me or papasteeze, either way, quiet down son.

Ok I just looked at my Anthems, and yes, the mark is .5 cm or 1 cm back from center.  In any case that is where they should be mounted, it is perfectly inline with the sidecut.  They are a symmetrical ski, they have the same tips and tails dimensions.  However, that does not mean they are to be mounted dead center. 

In any case mounting then where it says to mount then.  I rode mine today at recommended and they are fucking sick.   If you re-mount and get them dead center I guarantee  you will not notice any positive differences.  They are sick switch all over the place and great in the park. 

Sorry for being kind of blatant and shit, but there have been lots of these threads lately.

You also brought a up an interesting thought to me though.  That just because a ski is symmetrical that doesn't necessarily mean the bindings are mounted dead center.

Bottom line: ride them, enjoy them, such sick skis.
