Most Solid Turning Twin

Everyone always talks about how well their twintip works in the parks and what not, but thats not what I want. I dont ski a ton of park, but I do a some. I spend a majority of my time cranking out the turns. I still need a twin tip ski, but I want something that can hold a good line. I need to know which ski does this. I have heard that the FS Scratches do pretty well here, but I havent tried them, so I dont know first hand. I have had a pair of the older blue 1080s and enjoyed what they could do, but I want to update to something newer, maybe last years model. I only want to spend about 3-350 bucks, so please keep that in mind. Help if you can. Thanks

i have skied the rossi scratches, the 1080 and i have the enemy. I love my enemies, and i think they are the best for carving out of the three. I can imagine the pes being just as good or even better. I would go with the pes.

dude, ive skied the enemies, publics, darksides, skogens and mad trix, and the enemies and publics carve the best overall, after that id say the mad trix

yah. i have owned 1080's, line 1260's, and atomic tweaks. i've demoed most others. i'd say for sure the mad trix are great for all mtn riding. i race skiercross with them. the tweaks are pretty nice for all mtn too

crank if two years agos 1080s carve ok for tyou then pretty much every ski excpet maybe line will do you just fine. i demoed a pair of last years 1080s and when i carved on groomers at high speed i could see, and hear, the tips smacking on the ground. i got airstyle nts, and they are nice and stable everywhere on the mountain

I can't speak for the Spaceframe 1080s, but I didn't think the old ones were too good at speed on hardpack. Lines are pretty soft too. Vokl V-Pros are my regular ski - nice and stiff (compared to other twins at least) - holds a really nice carve.

The mad trix by far are the best. I own the scratch and they suck for carving far too soft but are a kick ass park ski, Most Lines wont carve worth shit. The pe's are probly teh best next to mad trix but the be doesnt have much of a turning radius. If you want a good twinner carving ski, look for teh ski that is teh stiffist tortionally!! Almost all teh park skis out there are not for carving, there for park and thats it. There all too soft too carve.
I race fis and trust me, I know what skis carve and what skis dont.

And dont expect to be able to carve a ski that you have been sliding rails unless the snow is extremly soft

I thought the tweaks felt like a race ski with a twin tip on the back.... wait a minute.. it is with a slighty wider waist!
But There heavy, and i didn't like them riding switch, and didn;t have that pop that other park skis have. But they can carve!

It sounds like PEs or Mad Trix are what I want. I may lean more towars the Enemies because they are wider, but I will go with the best deal I can find. I still may end up with some 1080s if thats the best deal I can get. Thanks for the useful info everyone, keep adding it if youve got it

if you live on the east coast 1080 carve like ass! volkls carve the best straight up, followed by the PE

Someone posted that Lines are really soft, but i know Mike Nicks are stiffer than the 1080s and PEs, so i think they're a little stabler at high speeds.

Get the madtrix or atomic tweak. They are most likely the stiffest twin out there. And whatever you do, don't buy a foam core ski. When I fly down dave murray at 100km/h I feel like my 1080s are going to evaporate.

wood core is best. 1080s are way to soft. as are scratches. I found that the scratchs flap way to much when do high speed shit

I demoed some V-Pros last year and they were great at speed. They definatly aren't a race ski, but being a twin and being relativly wide I was super impressed with them on the groomers. Held a pretty good edge on ice and hardpack too.

I've been on Skogans, Enemies, AR5s, and Mojos. Mojos are the best for turns, but will run u like $900. Armadas were next best, but again, like $700. Enemies would be good if you can find some. They should be pretty cheap now too.

ya ive had line 1260s, 1080's, candides and mad trix. themad trix r far and away the best for carving and all mountain in my opinion. 1080's wernt bad, but not anywhere near the mad trixs. candides sux cuz there so damn soft.

Pistols rule all for laying down turns. I cant believe that no one here has said that yet. Pistols are the ultimate carving ski - they leave 8 inch deep trenchs on regular groomed. They are the shit in soft snow too cuase they are like waterskis and tear through the foot deep slush spring snow here.

spring slush is one thing and hardpack/ice is different. You want a stiffer ski to handle that stuff, volkl or atomic for sure.

PE's rule. I grew up racing and I still ski that way when I'm just making turns. The PE's have an even flex and good sidecut. The Scratch BC's aren't bad either.
A lot of twins have that flex point behind the heel that doesn't help carving all that much.
Without ever having skied them I would guess that the Fischers and Heads are pretty good.
The 4Frnts are super solid but they don't have enough sidecut.

volkls dont have a great sidecut but if u know how to flex the ski right then its smooth sailing. after trying the new scratch (not Fs or Bc) I found they turned well

the 724 AX pro is a great ski, so is the 724 AX3
great carver radii and also a stiff wood core. when I skied the '04 734AX3 I was thoroughly impressed. they performed well in the pipe, switch was fine, racing was good too.
