i have the first mac mini with an 80gb hard drive and i have 6.75 gb free why is it that more than 70 ggb of it is used i only have music on here and some word documents no more than 20and i do have pictures 120 about is there anything i can do to make it so i have more memory avilable (i did download leapord on it wich takes about 6 gb
You can buy an external hard drive. They aren't too expensive and then you'll never run out of storage. Or you can go through and delete things you don't need such as old applications.
get a new ipod for christmas because it's more expensive. you can get a decent hard drive for a little over 100 dollars.
p.s. just for future reference, you're not talking about memory. memory has to do with short term storage and speed, while hard drive storage space is for long term storage and what not. no big deal. just letting you know.
On thing i noticed is that I had a lot of my music stored twice on my HD. I was pissed about how I managed to fill up so much on my laptop in only 6 months. When you copy music to itunes on my computer it created a folder in music-itunes-itunes music i think that was a copy of whatever was played in my itunes. This means that most of my shit was on my computer twice in my azureus dowloads or music etc and in the itunes folder.
