Polarized Crowbars? has anyone tried these bad boys?

I heard that they make it hard to get depth on something. like a chunk of ice or hard patch. coming from someone who is paid by oakley so I trust him.

on the brightest of bright days they are probably sick. i love my polarized sunglasses for driving but mainly because it really kills the glare coming off of other cars windshields. the idea behind the polarized gogs is to help eliminate glare coming off of the snow.  i personally wouldnt go for the gogs unless you can get a sweet deal on em.

they aren't worth it for what you want..

better to go for a high intensity lens, or pink iridium for flat light and overcast weather

They are bad because you want to be able to see the glare off of ice and other bad things.  Polarization takes this away.

I've been looking for this lens (Grey Polarized) for a long time and I'm thinking of replacing my black iridium lens with it (it got a nasty skratch) How is it compared with black iridium? darker/brighter? Can it be used in any kind of weather or just when it's sunny? I think my black iridium works pretty much in all conditions even though some say it's a lens for sunny days I think it works, if Grey Polarized is the same I'll probably get it.

I'm pretty sure grey polarized is rated as being darker than black iridium on the oakley site. If you really want to drop all the money on a polarized lens that you can use all the time I would shoot for the amber polarized lens. Grey polarized will be way to dark to deal with in flat light or night time, but it will kick ass on super sunny days. Polarizing just cuts down on glare coming from the sun or bouncing off the snow.

Most people don't understand what polarization is. A polarized lens has a polarization film in/on it that has almost invisible horizontal stripes. The horizontal stripes block light coming in completely horizontally so reflections off of flat horizontal things don't effect you as much. This works great for water and car windows but it doesn't work great on snow because snow isn't flat. Polarized lenses also make it more difficult to read your ipod screen.

i have the vr28 polarized
they basically give you x ray vision
if u ever want to upgrade from 20/20 to like 100/100, then get these
jk, i dont really see the difference, i use them for my bright day goggles

I have the Polarized HI amber lens (looks blue, but when you look through them it's tinted down orange) I loved them went to a spring rail jam that was sunny as hell, like ppl left there with a sunburn. When I took my goggles off, my eyes fucking hurt so bad I couldn't keep them open. I also wore them while i was driving to the mountain to test them out on an extremely sunny day and looked right at the sun, didn't even phase me. Cuts glare down so you can see clearly at all times and enhances color a little. I've never had an issue where i couldn't see what was ahead of me, or that it was too dark. THe only thing i did like was the Fire lens because it just made every little chunk of snow just pop out more vision-wise I couldn't believe what i saw, but for me it's a toss up (fire or my polarized HI amber). I got a pretty sweet deal with mine so that's why i have it.

going from 20/20 to 100/100 is a down grade

20 20 is you can read size 20 font from 20 feet away.

Regarding my first post, here are the lens tints from oakleys site:

Grey polarized, no info at all exept that it's neutral.

Black iridium, looks way darker than polarized grey and has all the stats

Judging by those pics grey polarized looks much brighter than black iridium, so using it in bad weather should be no problem since i'm used to black iridium? or am I missing something :S
Anyone got specific info on polarized grey? someone who actually tried them...

it's a pretty sick lens.  i have a pair of crowbars with the turbo dark polarized blue iridium lens and they were fantastic on a super sunny day.
