Really, How "dead" are PE's?

I've read through a bunch of old threads with guys complaining that PE's are dead skis. That they're heavy 2x4's with no pop. Is this really the case? Are these guys comparing apples and oranges with, for example, T-Hall pro's? I couldn't imagine them being that unresponsive.

I've heard both sides. I think it depends on whether you can flex the ski at all, and what you want in the ski. It isn't meant for all park, it's an all-mtn twin...

I ve ridden the older models and they were deff pretty brutal compared to any other ski...but from what ive seen this years might be aight...still stiff but ALOt lighter

no there not completly "dead". if you know how to pop you will be able to pop with them. PE's are very very similar in flex and weight to ar6's

they are pretty heavy, but I find they have plenty of pop. I can ollie pretty well on them, and they are lively enough for turning and work goodin the pipe. (I have 05-06s)

i can nose butter and pop good with the 04-05 models..if you watch skimatic, i think, you can see bibby doing sick ass butters off jumps w/ these and they seem to do fine..I think that many people think they are "dead" because the are a older park ski of k2's and now the fujative/silencer has taken its place in the park and the seth's and maddens have taken its place for out of the park..but IMO i think they are a good allmountain ski (yes that includes park)

Holy Gosh...that's an insane deal.
One of the sickest kids I ever rode with had PE's until he got picked up by Head...and he had no problem popping, buttering, etc.

PE s are much heavier and stiffer than the AR6. The AR6 is poppy and fairly light with medium flex for a park ski.. the PE is an all mountain ski with medium flex for an all mountain ski!

yea, not close at all. I ride mojos, which I thought were pretty stiff, but it's real hard to butter PE's, and they're really heavy. definitely not my ski of choice. I'd rather pay less for the fujative, it's much more fun
All times are Eastern (-5)
