What would you guys want in a local ski shop? What sort of factors would make you want to go to the shop? What sort of environment would that shop have to have?
I wanna hear everything and anything. From prices to brands and entertainment and services...what does a good shop need for your business?
Remember I'm talking about a local shop in a ski town, perhaps on hill, either way its purpose it to be THE place to go.

I hate when shops don't have variety. I would like a ski shop to have a lot of different sweatshirts and shirts and hats etc. And also It'd be sick to have some none ski clothes, like some hip hop karmaloops shit. some nice hip hop blasting, some sb dunks, some graffiti/urban art on the walls, etc.

as a 17 year old with little money and a love for fine herbs, i would put price above service. i dont even care about a knowledgeable staff except for boots. i dont walk into a shop wanting someone there to tell me what skis i need. i do research online and i usually know what i am buying before i go in the shop. knowledgeable boot people are a must though
i got kind of off topic, but yes, i would rather have a low price than good service

Thats what I want to hear though. Reasons why people would or would not support a shop. I have a feeling a lot of people that say they want good service still buy online.

well im working in a shop now and trying to turn it around a bit, the things that i hate about shops are the long wait times for simple things, so if someone just needs their din adjusted or the bindings adjusted to a different boot (its not a freeski shop or anything so most people have no clue) ill do them while they are waiting and this has been really well recieved by the customers, i also do mountings while people wait whenever its possible, i know one shop i bought skis from made me wait 4 days to do the mounting while the tech was sitting around picking his ass and i rele hated that
i think if you can get people in ur shop who really want to be there and take pride in their work then people will be willing to pay the extra and not buy it online, and y'know i love doing this, it sure feels good when someone tells you that youve made their christmas for their kid

attractive, knowledgable and friendly employees (most importantly attractive) will bring kids in more than anything else. that and a broad range of product brands to choose from. make sure there's some street clothes in there aswell.
