Taking photos for the yearbook/journalism at our basketball opening night (in a half an hour)

Shoot with a flash, yay or nay? I know field sports are no flash, but the inside of my gym is abolute shit, and the extra light would be amazing.

I've never shot basketball before, so I don't know those rules! Help!

just go for it, or ask the ref if before the game if you're really worried about it.

your talking photography right? always use a flash inside... no expert here but im sure its easier to make a photo darker than lighter

oh, and use a high ISO, 800 at least, maybe 1600, it helps a lot

If she's asking whether or not to use a flash I'm gonna take a guess and say she doesn't have the camera to do that. I could be wrong though. Maybe her question was if she would be yelled at by doing so.

Alright, this thread can die.

My flash didn't help, it just messed with my shutter speed, so I used some fast glass with my ISO on 800. Sometimes 1600, but I hate grain, so I tried to avoid that as much as possible.
