Suggestions: How to close up the end of a box?

I have a box... which has my skis in it... which I need to return to Dynastar... BUT!

There's always a but. (maybe Brody's butt? eh?)

It's a long, skinny box, and I've taped it up, BUT (here comes the but) there's an open space at either end, about 6x4 inches. How can I close up the ends of the box? I need suggestions, I've got to get these back to Vermont.

put a piece of cardboard there and use a bunch of duct tape.

take some cardboard and cut it into a 4x6 rectangle, then use lots of duct tape ...

go find dumpster, look over edge, spot cardboard, reach hand inside dumpster, take cardboard, bring cardboard home, cut cardboard to right size, ductape cardboard to box, send skis in mail, have nice day.

Use your tape! The Saran wrap idea doesn't sound half bad...w/e. Just find some crap outside and duct tape the stuff.

ya really not to be a dick or anything but you had to come online and post a question abotu this is. Either find some cardboard which isnt to hard at all....its all over the place.. or just use alot of tape on the end. Or just go to a ski store and see if they have a left over one, there arent really to many options and its not that hard to use yoru brain.

To close it: I'm thinkin you should put some paper over the end and duct tape it. Duct tape is pretty strong and whatever so highly unlikely that it'll break along the journey. AND the paper will prevent the skis from sticking to it if they happen to slide to that end.

go to some office park or something and go back to their dumpster...there's bound to be cardboard boxes. take one to use for patching up and use tons and tons of duct tape

stowek2: yep..theres a few skilled ones...a good number who love it and want to progress, then a bunch of morons that are trying to impress the boys by wearing as little clothing as possible and as much make-up as possible on the hill
