New kid to skiing needs gear

so i have a friend who goes to school with me and he is from hawaii, anyway he really wants to get into skiing but needs some gear, he wants to spend under 300 for a set up. i know this is low, but if anyone has some old skis they're willing to give up for cheap that would be great. he has around a 10 1/2 - 11 size foot and is looking for a ski between 160-170 cm. thanks

go to sport mart and get some twins with bindings for like 250

yeah, my friend just picked up a pair of 06 scratch sprayers wiith bindings at Sprotchek for $280. Said friend is now trying to sell a pair of 162 atomic-somethings-with salomon bindings for $250 (they aren't twintips, but they are pretty good carving skis, kind of a greyish blue color) and they are in good cond. he skied barely any park with them and never slid a rail, only boxes. He doesn't have NS, but if your friend is interested, PM motox511@hotmail.com (if you have hotmail) idk if he wants to ship, but he probably would. Also spend some time looking at the threads on here....there is a bunch of old twins in your price range.

i've been contemplating sellin a brand new pair of atomic triplets (just 2 skies) with look 100 bindings for about 225, you pay shipping.  if interested let me know, i'll think about it for a day or 2, and get back to you, i know kinda weird but really thinking about buying some thing different
