Looks like a scam...

This looks like a scam, feels like a scam, and smells like a scam.  Just got it in the email today. (PS my posting is in Chicago for a $200 item).

he didnt ask for a credit card or social security number. although he did say his mover was coming to get it from california

such a scam. I got tons of those selling shit on craigslist. just like that shit. they dont know how to speak english and they are always from away and paying with check.

total scam. i got the same letter on castanet (our local classified).

they even sent me a cheque for 600 bucks more than the price of the item i was selling to cover "shipping". you cash the cheque, sendem the money, then the cheque ends up bad and the bank takes it out of your account. luckily  wised up before then.

my advice, string them along to waste as much of their time as you can, then tell them the bank wont let you cash the cheque unless the buyer sends a picture of his mother being fucked by a horse. thats what i did,

I thought that the point of craigs list was to do in person transactions. Otherwise, why not use ebay where you have some guarantees?

it's completely safe. send them your social security number, credit card numbers, PIN number, and include a picture of yourself and closest friends.
