I am working with "the legend" alex kaufman to create a first of its kind event. Actaully second, red bull school'd was the first but bring it to us baddass public school and other non-ski academy schools to the same level. School vs. school free ski competition. So if you would like your school to compete in this event pm me saying where your from, how interested you are in participating in this event and if there are a few other freeskiers in your school. I would like events like this to be as familiar to people as friday night lights or hoops. so if your interested please send me a pm to better the chance of freestyle skiing as a high school sport.

the whole purpose is for park skiing to become a school sanctioned sport. So i'm not inviting them anyway. So far i have contacts with oxford hills, gorham, mountain valley and lake region. thats 4 times which would be the minimum for this event. Where are you located and I'll start working with you too.Â

do you really want freestyle skiing to be in public schools? it can become a house hold sport with out it being a school sport. just look at skateboarding.

i dont know about you guys but i liked it when freeskiing was more of an underground sport. i dunno... it just seems like it has gotten way too popular nowadays.

Even if this was brought to a school level (public) I dont think we would get kids that want to learn. I think mainly it would be the kids that ski by themselves in crews and what not. I think it would be good. We have like 5-10 kids in our school that would do it. I think it would almost be better to have it snowboard/freeski because the amount of freeski kids is very low, where snowboarding would make the teams much larger, almost better I think.
I would talk to my school. (Souhegan High School)

i start talking with the first AD tomarrow. Still up in the air whether it will actually be school sanctioned or not. IF it is then i'll be going thorugh the MAine MPA meaing NH is basicially out but that why it would become a legitimate event. IF its not i'll have a lot more leway and could bring in other teams easier.Â

No no no no no. No. My school has a freeride team and its the best thing ever! We train 3 hours two days a week after school. Another school in South Burlington Vermont built a 2000 acre rail park in the woods behind their football field. Don't you want that at your school? So I'm going to go out on a limb and say yeah I do want that and I don't want it taken away.
As for the comp, sick idea. I hope it happens. Maybe my team can compete.

Still looking for newhampshire public school skiers for the event. All abilities welcomed and needed, if you don't think there are enough kid in your school that are "good" enough then i must have forgot to mention that there are going to be ability leveled catogories as well.

I have 7 schools right now that i have good contact with and they are very interested. THe date of the Comp will be March 29th. The comp is going to benefit Maine Handicapped skiing as well. On the mass thing, talk to your own local mountain and try to get something started if you area.Â
Taylor, even though you only have 18 posts, 90% percent of those questions were things that it would be easier to ask me in person.
I feel like a douchse that just keeps bumping this thread so this post is officially a +1.
