Ultimate Beginners Guide

I personally can't add too much to this, as I'm new myself, but Ive been searching the site for the past couple days and couldn't find any sort of guide to freeskiing at all, and I figured I may as well start one for any other new people

I was thinking some easier stuff people might not understand, or words/slang specific to NS or park, I know I was incredibly confused when i came on NS for the first time just because of the words people use (by the way, corks and Inverted tricks aren't exactly what belongs in a beginners guide, thats why I think we need a seperate one with easier stuff)

personally, im doing all right just working on the basics, but some basic definitions of words and terms that most skiers who are just trying park, etc.  wouldn't know

Texan Slide - Skiing across a box straight
Railslide - Sliding a rail or box sideways
Natural Grind - Grinding the direction you woudl ride a skateboard
Unnatural grind - Grinding opposite as you would ride a skateboard
Jib - Anything other than snow that you can touch with your skis.  Also a verb, to jib
Switch or fakie - Skiing backwards... on purpose


I dunno, thats all I feel like doing right now... more people add some.
