WTB: Park-Only Skis

Hi, I'm a 6' class III skiier, 145 lb, and I've never really done much park. I'm in the market for some relatively cheap park-specific skis, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of the choices I have. Tanner Hall 171's, 171 AR6's, 174 Scratch FS Create-It, Salomon 1080's, or Line Anthem's or Invaders (or chrons). Thanks people!

If you want somethin pretty cheap look into the fujatives

Do you like soft or stiff skis?  I just started riding park last season (after 20 years on skis) and I ride the Invaders.  They are really soft, but that is nice for buttering and jibbing stuff.  The symmetrical sidecut and center mounting makes spinning and riding switch very easy.  They haven't had delamination issues since the first generation (05/06) - my 06/07s have been durable and the word on the 07/08 is bulletproof.  I would definitely recommend them for someone starting out in the park.

Not really sure what type of skis I like, I have really stiff apache recons now so I'll probly go for some soft skis cuz I'm a light guy

If you want soft, forget the rossis and the Ar6's. Try to find some Fujatives in a 179, or some invaders in a 178. I think that the 171 range will be too small for you once you progress and get better.

I have 2006 K2 Apache Recon's. I'm a beginner in the park so I"m looking to stay under 180 cm, and if you're sellin skis just post for how much cuz I have a limited budget. Thanks!

If I got stiffer skis like the AR6's could I get them in 171 cm or is that still too short???

I would say for softer skis
Fujative
invader
Thruster

And for a stiffer ski
AR6
Silencer

Personally I would go for the Fujative in your situation. Great park ski and quality ski but still not overly expensive.

well it depends if you still want a stiff ski go with armada's but if you want a flexy cheaper ski go with line invaders

Question: I can get a great deal on 06/07 AR6's but they're 171 cm. Will the stiffness make up for the lack of length and can I still do park easily?

just letting u know u should be on at least like a 181
i personally like my salomons, and you do know there are multiple forms of 1080s right? im thinking ud like the thruster. the flyer doesnt come in your size otherwise that would be a good choice

you can find last years skis of all of the skis you listed you may be interested. they are like 1/2 the price of this years skis online. the majority of skis wouldnt have a noticible difference for you from year to year as far as construction goes.

I've heard I should go bigger, but I've read stuff online that says i should be in the 170's. I feel like everyone on this site is like: go big or your a pussy. But I just want a ski thats good for a new skiier in the park but a very experienced all-mountain skiier

yeah with your height you could definately go longer than 171 but you weight is definatley too light to go longer, for best overall performance you want the ski to be about to your nose height.
