I usually just wear a tan LL Bean Jacket and snow pants probably considered a medium fit, not Gaper skinny, or trend whore baggy as fuck, blends in with the snow for some stealth "missions", and I don't really like to be noticed while I'm skiing. Just carving groomers, doing tech shit like hop 180-butterish thingamajig to another hop 180, and boosting the fuck out of the park. I don't consider myself to be very good at all, Fuck, I can barely 3.

I actually occasionally rock some Neon Orange HH bottoms from about 1995 so my friends can find me on busy days.

My clothes are baggy, i do have a wide stance, i wear bandanas because when i was younger i thought the kids that did looked cool, i wear a helmet cause i want to live, and a basebal cap underneath cause i think it looks cool, i love rails and im pretty good, yet im scared to spin off bigger jumps, so ya im that kid who straight airs the 60 footer and skis over and throws down on the 3 kinker but u know im proud to get shown up by that 8 yr old who thows down the lincon loop, or if im waitin in line to hit the big one i'm the kid who does the straight air safety grab right after that same 8 yr old stomped a swtich 9 and you know why im proud of it cause in 30 years when im sittin at home al cripled and bent with two replaced knees and arthritis up the ying yang, logged on to newschoolers here, ill see what an impact our sport has made and know that i was a part of that, i dont wanna be the one who is remeberd for bein awesome at tricks and stuff but the one who had the most tryin new stuff gettin in trouble running from the ski patrol and what not, livin the skiers life, so who cares what i dress like hell ill ski naked if u want but what ever i do im gonna have fun doin it !

I have been blessed to have amazing gear for extremely cheap. I'm nowhere near being a good park skier. However, I like having the stuff, because of how I got it, how it looks, and what it means to me.

That people expect you to throw down, maybe. But that's just a problem with their perception. This kid who thinks someone who sucks and has nice gear is trying to buy skill? No dude, they're the ones who love the clothing and are paying skiing companies to keep going and sponsor your favorite athletes.

If they have an attitude about it, then who cares? Avoid them.

Just ski, worry about yourself, avoid attitudes, and let everyone enjoy skiing.

i love doin that, ive got a onepeice turquoise running suit thats skin tight. and i love fuckin around in it then throwin down like you said.

as far as how people dress, i really dont care as long as they keep to them selves about it, but when they start talkin shit and beain real loud and stuff then it really pisses me off and i think they deserve alittle confrontation.

seriously, i wore baggy clothes way before i put skis on my feet. its called a style... and it so happens that my sport borrowed my style...and they didnt wait to do that till people were throwing dubs and shit...

It's not a crime, but to wear super baggy cloths, you have to be able to throw down.

If I wore XXL Saga, and was a poor skier, then I would feel self conscious.

Even though people on here refuse to admit it, clothing acts as a signal. If I see someone with a G-Suit, I assume that they are good. If someone has a waist length coat and black midfit trousers, I'll assume they're not great.

But that's the point of signalling; it's manipulable. You can make people think you'rea good skier by the clothes you wear. There is very little correlation but nonetheless.

There was a kid in Hafjell over xmas, with 2XL Saga, FT Doggers, AR6s, and was poleless, and was straight sliding a flat box. It just didn't seem right.

I respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This is absurd though. Does someone have to be a professional guitar play to own a nice guitar? Do you have to be a pro photographer to have nice lenses? Doesn't make any sense to me.

A kid at my mountain has a massive G-Suit, he jumps off the side of rail lips. I have yet to see him slide a rail, or even straight air a jump. He's a boss....

Another kid has a huge jiberish sweatshirt, with Salomon suspects, sth 14 bindings, and kaos boots. Overall he could be mistaken as a pro if you see him not skiing, he can barely 180.

wait a minute... so your skiing ability determines how rich you are? is that what you are trying to say? cause thats just fucking retarded. i dont see why someone should be considered a "little rich shit" if they have good gear and arent the greatest skier, while someone who is a much better skier can have the same gear and be considered the greatest thing since sliced bread.

i was a boarder for the past 10 years, rode with a mix of skiers and boarders, wore clothes that were big as shit, now first year on skiis since i was 8 and i went to all schmediums, red jacket and black pants, real simple. i look good enough and my style matches my skiing ability.  i didnt even think about it but i guess it was my self conscience. kids who dress like a G and dont ski like one make themselves look more uncool than the guys who dress to there ability.  that being said there are a lot of different styles and you shouldnt judge someone by there outerwear, but we all do...
