i think that as long as your comfortable wearing what you wear then who gives a fuck..what about those kids out there that don't ski park and are just pleasure skiers..is is wrong for them to wear baggy shit or oakely stuff..no...then why do we always base our clothing on how good you are in the park...im not saying park is bad cuz i ski park and ski the rest of the mountain but im just wondernig why we always base skiing skills and clothing on park skills....shred the gnar!!

That's because the real skiers out West are riding pow lines or building booters, not hitting rails. I'll bet most those kids were 16 or younger and they were on vacation w their parents, JUST LIKE YOU.

for the most part people who are half decent or better really dont care about what others do or what others wear, so I can assume the creater of this thread is jealous because he doesnt have the balls to wear what he wants in fear of others making fun of him

walmart is a pretty good supply for ski clothing i think. I use to wear something like that but then i upgraded into a 1980's xl one peice that has two shades of neon green, purple and orange. I get shit too from the "gangsters" but most people think it's funny.

ive got "above average stuff" skis Ect. for my riding level( i can hit small rails and 270 off of boxes, decent 3 and working on a 5)
but i worked my freaking ass off all summer so i dont care!!!
i can rip a real mtn, to the point that last winter in Breck and Abasin people were asking me for directions and tips on good spots to hit.... (claim i know)

i used to wear quality stuff that was pretty low key because i thought a flashy oakley suit would attract haters... but this year i realized i really dont care what people think of my skiing ability and my outerwear, so i got that spyder suit josh bibby's been rocking.
and to answer the original question, im half decent on rails, i know how to make turns, and im dismal on jumps.

Hey I respect your response. Its not like you're claiming anything unrealistic. There's tons of skiers out there that are at that level. I'd say its pretty much your average to good freeskier. I appreciate the honesty its lame to hate on you just becase you admit you're a decent skier. I personally like wearing shit that i think looks stylish but doesn't attract too much attention to myself. I think its way better to suprise people by how good you are instead of by how much better your sense of style is than your ski ability.

I feel bad for the guys who still don't have hair on the balls claiming that there is any relationship between your clothing and skiing ability. Clothing is completely dependent on how much disposable income you have (or simply spoiled from mommy and daddy) to spend on ski gear, and how much you value ski gear as opposed to other things. Ski ability is dependent largely on how often you ride, and thereby how much practice you get.
If you honestly think shitty skiers aren't allowed to wear sick and expensive gear, you either suck yourself, probably jealous, or simply can't afford it. And stop with the bullshit claiming you must have a certain level of style in order to wear it, or earn the right to wear it. That's fucking garbage and its shitty attitudes like that on the hills that ruin the sport. Go out and ride, have fun and keep your mouth shut.

whats wrong with being spoiled by mommy and daddy? if people are rich or wealthy dont hate on them because their parents try harder than yours

Styne, once again you reinforce my point. Next time read carefully and don't immediately look for something to knock me for, especially when its incorrect.
"Clothing is completely dependent on how much disposable income you have
(or simply spoiled from mommy and daddy) to spend on ski gear, and how
much you value ski gear as opposed to other things."
I'm not knocking it, i'm saying clothing and rider ability are two seperate entity's. If you're spolied from mom and daddy, good on ya. I could careless, but my point still stands, and that is - all related to how much disposable income you choose to spend (or your parents choose to spend) on ski gear.
Tool.

This whole thread bothers me, makes me wonder why half the skiiers out there are even skiing and not walking down a snow filled runway.

its usually the kids that are judging people and caring what other people wear, are the ones that suck.

the "gangsta" at my mountain that skis down through the bunny park cutting everybody off just so he can hop off the rail lip is truly my role model. The rails are overrated anyways.
