Sorry guys. I haven't checked this site in awhile.
It all depends how much snow we get. If there is enough to open roundhouse or summit, I will push up a jump (or two) A.S.A.P. I know everybody wants to hit a legit jump, so that will be my first priority. I'll let you guys know as soon as I know. Pray for a good amount of snow.
Hey no worries man, just update us whenever you can, or whenever you guys make some park updates and that would be cool. After a season like last year's, I think a lot of people are gonna want to know what's going on at Alpine, because I know that I want to be at alpine as much as possible this year.
We will need a solid 2 feet or more to open the upper mountain. Alpine is a rocky place, so we need a litttle more snow than say northstar or boreal to fully open up. If it doesn't happen this weekend, our snowmaking crew will have it going real soon. Looks like we will have some great temps for snowmaking after the storm. I'll update as soon as I know the scoop.
i'm sure youre working super hard right now, but if you have time before the weekend, could you let us know what you're gonna have in the aprk for the weekend...thanks man
Not quite enough to open roundhouse yet. 12-14" of snow at the bottom. They will be making snow around the clock to open it as soon as possible. As soon as they get roundhouse, I will build a jump or two.
As of right now we will have the same stuff we had last weekend.
24' flat box
24' flat down box
32' flat down flat box
32' flat box
Tree stump
I will make changes as soon as more terrain opens. I'll let you guys know.
ZOMGZOMGZOMGZOMG THOSE JUMPS ARE ORGASMIC. I CANT WAIT TO GRIND ON A RAIL AND DO LOTS OF HXC SHIT AND PWN HELLA TEXANS IN ALPINE MEADOWS IN LAKE TAHOE! zomgzomgomzgomzgomzgomzgomg chicaaa!!! i cantt waitttt for the weekend!!!! :)
right now (thursday) there were 3 slushy jumps, from like 10 to 15 to a 20 footer. there are knuckles for the bottom two, so id expect a jumpline for the weekend.
i was up today and heres what i can remember in the kangaroo park:
flat rail/ flat down rail
trap rail/ up flat rail(i think)
two different down rails
fdf rail
up down box
four jump line, the biggest of which is pretty big...not sure how bug everything is but it has gotten much bigger since before the storm and was very well maintained today
I miss Alpine sooooooo much. No other place in Tahoe just has everything you need for any day in any conditions. What a bummer. I was hoping to ride there this year.
nicks is around 50ft. they have some boxes and a few jumps in the mid mtn park, but not so much in the kangaroo park yet. im sure theyll have some more features up thur and friday.
yesterday was good... from the park to the buttress to grouse rock and back
Nicks is still sick, not xxxl like the last two years but still oh so smooth, the roo is lovely as usual with perfect jumps and plenty of jibs
No Joke: A guy in blue jeans and a backwards Cubs cap hit Nicks yesterday!!! he was rolling the windows for dear life but he cleared the knuckle and lived to tell all his peeps back home!
Yeah, and a girl threw a five on a snowboard over nicks. I think every guy fell in love with her a little bit! Alpine's park is the smoothest right now - period.
Damn I wanna go back to alpine sooo bad. I only went there one day this year before the big ones were up but the jumps were still smooth as always. Im glad that they got things back up there too.
