i bought a mac book pro a couple of months ago. i was running limewire on it but i heard from alot of ppl who have computers (not only macs) that limewire messes your computer up. it started messing mine up too (runs slower alot of times) so i just took it off my computer. any ideas on how to make it run faster or what music site to use (like bearshare for example)? thanks for your input!
use bittorrent. it's a much safer system with an exponentially smaller chance of getting in trouble for using it. And there are few if any viruses/spyware unlike limewire and like programs.
I use limewire and it works perfectly! One of the reasons it may slow you down is that ppl may be taking music off your comp from the Limewire itself. Make sure your library of completed and uncomplete downloads is completely empty. All my downloads go directly into iTunes anyway (at least audio and video), so I don't have any need to keep them in Limewire itself.
I started using Cabos awhile ago and like it a lot. I think it is based on limewire, but I haven't noticed any problems with my computer such as those seen in limewire. The only problem is the start up time is pretty slow, but thats a small price to pay for such a good program. It's open source and free by the way.
yeah i started using Cabos too, i like it for the most part. sometimes i cant find songs that are not really popular but its not a bad program. i have noticed a slow startup time and an even slower closing time (for the program) but its not much more than 5 to 10 seconds.
