2 or 3 year old mongoose (before they went to huffy quality) with shamano drive train. i have money, but i dont plan on changing the crank, just the rear part. like new cassete and the thing that changes the gears. i just wanna know where i can get em and everything i need

this will be hard online. I'd say check out a local bike shop.

You'll want a rear dearrailer (sp?) and a new cassette/ cogset

get new shimano rings, stay with shimano cause that's what your front ring is, so it will match better timing wise and will give you a smoother ride, get a shimano chain and then i'd suggest at least an lx deraileur, if you have the cause get the xt

if he focking bought his bike at corco it dowent worth putting a lx derailleur on it..

going to a bike shop woul be the best thing to do.

if you need new derailleur and shits dont go lower then alivio level parts cause the rest kinda sucks.

O yea, and never buy a fucking bike at costco unless you know how to fix a bike cause most of the time the parts are not even compatible

i got the sram X-O shifter and rear derailer - you should get that - its only $250 for the shifter and derailer

surprisingly enough, i like my bike a lot. not as much as a higher end bike that cost 700 or watever. should be compatable with a new parts. thanks for help

just stick with deore...if its 4 years old, chances are ur not keeping it for anothe 4 years. dont waste 100 on xt deraileur.
