Well I just got a phone call like 5 mins ago from the guy mounting my skis at my shop. He says: "Hey man, I'm mounting your skis right now, but the screws on the FKS are about 2mm too long and if I mount them I will go right through your bases, did they come with lifters or spacers?". That's about as exact of a quote as I can remember. I proceeded to tell him that they don't even make FKS bindings with lifters. He then told me that the shop I bought them from must have replaced the original screws with longer screws and now mounting them is a "liability".
When I was looking at my bindings before dropping them off to have them mounted, I did notice that each binding had one screw that was slightly longer than the rest (aka 3 short screws and 1 long screw). Now I'm kind of worried that the only screws that were too long were the 2 screws that were different and he is going to grind them all down or something.
Anyone else have this problem? I told him it will be ok to grind the screws down, but I don't want to end up ripping my bindings out. I have never heard of the screws on the FKS being too long, I bought them new from proctorjones, so I seriously doubt they did anything with them before shipping them out.
Thanks,
Jake
