blackened salmon. its extremely easy. buy some salmon, buy blackening seasoning. brush it on with butter. broil that shit. make some wild rice, and maybe some type of vegetable like asparagus. its a good combo, and you will look pretty adept even though its easy.
Then for a side dish do some roasted vegetables, a salad to start off, and some nice desert for the end.
for desert I kinda recommend Mousse if you've got the time, or make brownies, then warm them right before serving up and put a scoop of ice cream on top, then drizzle with some chocolate syrup and call it a night.
Dude, chicken quesadillas are a piece of cake. Buy some flour tortillas, chunk chicken, a pepper and tomato, shredded cheese and salsa.(sour cream if you like it)
Start your frying pan and butter or oil that shit to grease it. Then throw down a single tortilla, throw some chicken, cut up vegees, and lots-o-cheese in there. Drop another tortilla on top and let that shit cook, when it comes time to flip just press down on the edges a bit to get em to stick so your shit doesn't fly out when you flip it. Once flipped I throw some extra cheese on top, finish cooking and cut the shit in quarters. Top with salsa and sour cream and you will instantly be a hit with your lady friend.
^^HHAHA nice idea... anyways the notebook is too cleeshay (sp?) and it doesn't have to be a specific food or genre just a good movie, maybe horror? Probably not comedy. And i like that pasta idea... keep in mind i wanna cook this with her so take that into account.
Movie: I liked The Holiday for some reason. It's not as gay as The Notebook. Plus...Jude Law is HOT! I actually went on a date and we saw that when it came out. Made out afterwards...a lot!. So might be a plus. Oh and Christmas is coming up. HMM HMM?
Food: If you can't really cook then DON'T do seafood. What if it's fishy? That's bad.
Do pasta or make a pizza together. How can you ruin a pizza? Dough is really fun.
Boil up some spaghetti. Take some fresh basil and chopped tomato, heat it up/fry it in a little bit of oil in a pan. Put that on top of the spaghetti and mix it up. Add parmesean cheese to taste. Easty, and delicious.
I'd go with Ziti or some different type of pasta instead of Spaghetti. Even though I love the stuff its been done over too many times. A different type of pasta says you're a lil more exciting and adventurous. Put some shredded Mozzerella on there and let it melt....good eats.
Any kind of pasta works, I personally enjoy Rotini. As for mozzarella, I'd have to disagree. Parmesan is way better. But it's all personal preference I suppose.
no you put the salsa inside so you don't have as much of a mess. but if he is wanting pussy, i wouldn't advise this route.
i'm thinking along the lines of a not so fishy tasting fish, like salmon or cod. go to the store and ask a good seasoning for it, put it on, broil it in the oven and the shit is good, and delicious.
next a vegetable, probably steamed to go with the fish. something like asparagus, broccoli, green beans.
next pick up a pre-cooked chicken, not a big one but enough for both of you.
a decent bottle of wine goes good with it.
and for desert, i can't really tell ya there, pick something simple that tastes good, and looks like it was hard to make.
shit i forgot about the movie, don't do the notebook! i repeat, don't do the notebook! girls seem to now understand guys pick that if they want to get in your pants. i'm not much of one to know about romantic movies so i can't recommend one, all i know is not the notebook.
Shredded mozzarella looks more presentable then spects of Parmesan. Nothing against it cause I love the stuff but on a date I'm assuming he's trying to impress, mozzarella.
and I'm liking how crookedboner is thinking with the fish, I personally was in a more of a shrimp mood which is less hard to F up then most fish, but I think a nice salmon could be done well, with a nice bowtie pasta and fresh pesto on the sde.
If you are cooking together make sure to have a bottle of wine that complements the dish. It's always good time to split a bottle with your girl while you are making dinner and set the mood for the rest of the night.
i do it the same way but instead of putting another tortilla on top i just do it on one and fold it. that makes one side closed so when you cut it in quarters and try to eat it the shit doesnt spill out from the sides.
If you can't work pizza dough then quite frankly how can you have a girlfriend? I'm not necessarily talking about you.
My ex did something pretty damn close to Easy-Mac, PBR and The Transporter. Let's see...PB&J, Blue Moon and The Italian Job. Happy with the Blue Moon though.
here is an easy one
sausage sauce and
put 2 cans diced tomatoes in a pan over low heat put a lil olive oil in too
mince 1 clove garlic and add along with rosemary and salt and pepper
keep at a low simmer
in another pan heat oil over medium heatup
chop up onions and green peppers and saute til onions start to turn traslucent
put into sauce
cook ground sausage in pan used for onions over medium high heat until fully cooked and add to sauce
start cooking pasta preferebly penne
chop up more garlic and saute it over medium low heat for 2mins,
and that and chopped fresh basil to sauce
add tomatoe paste til thickened
adjust salt and pepper
serve over the pasta
yo bitch, don't even let me get started on how good i cook. and what would dough have to do with having a girlfriend? its true that dough is not easy. there is techniques to making pizza. the dough can easily tear and rip, their is a certain way to do it. unless your using that dough from the supermarket and not making your own like i do...then how could you have a boyfriend or ever get married
stupid bitch. since you want to make things up from whjat i said, i bet your ex thought he was some mucho mafia guy cause he watched a movie full of mini coopers HA!
i live with my grandpa in the bronx thats off the boat from sicily, believe me, i can cook
whatever you do, don't do really sauce-covered pasta. I read this whole article on what to order wen going out to a business dinner, and I'm assuming this pretty much is the same idea in that if you order pasta with sauce, it gets everywhere and is hard to eat and look 'clean' at the same time...
chicken and spinach alfredo, grill the chicken, cook up whatever kind of pasta you like, i prefer the bowtie ones, you can buy pre made alfredo sauce, so just get some frozen spinach and some green/red peppers to dice up and throw in and you're money
