But only to learn how to actually slide a rail, or maybe 270 on. For switch-ups or any kind of spinning off they suck. Plus they generally aren't as slippery.
I used to do that too. I think it's the fact that most are ride on, and that doesn't allow for getting the 90(or whatever spin on) and getting balanced as easily. Sure you can pop like crazy, but it's a lot harder than having a kicker do most of the popping for you and only worrying about the spinning.
Boxes are nice when there's fresh pow on top, though.
Rails are definitely more satisfying, though.
And it's a lot harder to get hurt on a box then it is on a rail so if anyone tries it they won't die and end up down in the clinic...
