Ipod help

I have some freinds who bought new iPODs, and were pissed to find out that they would only load the few albums they had bought through iTUNES... they would not upload their other torrent, or limewire etc files. Has anyone else encountered this?

I want to get a new 80 gig to replace my 30 gig, but not if that is the case.

also, does anyone have a zune? are they any good, I dont know anyone who has one. Nor have I heard anything.

no they probly just have to convert the music...i donwload all my music off limewire or torrents and they work fine with itunes/ipod...

yea i would say its probably something on THEIR end thats wrong. i've never bought a song from itunes, and mine works fine with the songs i have.

vista is full of anti piracy features so yes it could matter

hmmmmm, well lets say theyre not. (my video iPOD works fine on vista, just for arguments sake)
Using XP, and itunes wont upload anything but itunes purchased music.

are you trying to let your itunes find your music or are you manually importing it?

try manually importing it first^^.  to answer your other question, my brother just bought a zune like 2 weeks ago and loves it.  but that might just be because he is anti-ipods in general.  i messed around with it for a while and it just takes some getting used to (from ipods), but they are very functional

Im not having any problems with my ipod, and for the record I import all my files using the handy "import file" button.

I have a zune. It kinda trips out sometimes, but the zune pass is pretty cool. as many songs as i want, legally.

forgot to mention im canadian, so i get as many songs as i want for free legally anyways.
I think they figured it out, just used a different version of itunes.
i shall do the same...

that isnt even a reason the songs wont work with ITUNES... i use vista, xp, 2000 and i have never bought a single song and my ipod is full.. just have "manage music manually"

torrents, how else would oyu get free music? I hope no one is using limewire for anything but the odd remix, I really really hope that.
