i'm legit scared to bend mine.  my shop won't do it so i need to do it myself, i think i'm going to wait till winter break, my dad own's a wood shop, so I think i won't risk screwing mine up in my dorm

Taking them apart and assembly really isn't bad at all. Just follow the TGR directions. It was really easy for me. But for bending, you deffinetly need a table vise, and try to get a pole with the smallest diameter you can that still fits on the break. That was you will get a cleaner/easier bend. Taht's basically it. It deffinetly isn't too hard at all.

I'm getting my poles shortened tomorrow, i ordered 47 inch poles but they sent me 54's. so i'll ask the shop to give me back the extra 7 inches of the shaft and I'll try to use that, but I don't know where i will find a table vise

that might work, just the shorter the pole, the harder it is going to be to bend the brake.

true, i think 7 inches should give me a good amount of leverage, if it's not enough i'll just bend them when I go home over winter break

sorry to get this off track even more, and a mod can feel free to split this off to a new thread, but those of you who are bending fks brakes, have you ever broken them while skiing? i bent mine using the tgr method to fit on my fujatives and i snapped one of the brake arms off my first day riding them, i think the arm snapped off skiing switch when i put the skis up on a hard edge and the brakes hit the snow?

There's enough arm to get a little stub off the sides of an ARG for sure.  It won't do a lot, but it'll definitely be better than nothing at all.

And to the people about to bend, use a broken ski pole.  When the pole breaks the opening left is long and narrow, which is perfect for getting over the end of the arm then twisting to make it narrow to bend.
