Internet at school...

So at my school they have this program that tracks what ever internet site you go on.  As opposed to it blocking sites, it just tracks where you go and if there is something bad on that site it flags it, and send a report to the principal and the teacher whos room you are in.  When i say bad, i use it very loosely, like any swear word or bad word like fag.  It also flags if it sees the word in any form, so you can get flagged for the word ass if association is on the webpage. How gay!!  Today i got flagged for the word gay and got kicked of the comp.

hahahaha holy shit that is gay. we have blocked sites but we can just use a proxy. my librarian yelled at me for being on a "forum site" (newschoolers) last year cause they can see what your doing. i said i'm getting off. couple minutes later i went back on and she yelled at me again and said it's inappropriate and to get out of her library (this lady is a total dyked out bitch for the record) so i go to reply and put in caps "FUCK YOU MRS. DAY!!! got 5 days detention and it was totally worth it. her reaction was priceless.

yea we have that it scans the page or w/e but instead of flaging it and reporting you it just blocks it

but also today i had my comp privleges threatend for making a .bat file that only brought up a working command prompt as aposed to the schools that was locked up

our school just blocks em but its easy to get around, last year we all got the halo demo running and played 8vs8 lan it was money. They kick us off the computer if they catch us playing games but yo ucan just unplug your internet cable after getting to the page you want. Sucks they flag words at ur school.

First of all thats so unpractical from their standpoint.  Theres a million legit (not bad) situations that could arise where you need to be on a site that has association, gay marriage, or sex (as in boy or girl).

Second of all, I know libraries are not allowed to block computers at all (yes you can go on porn at your library completely legally if your over 18).  So why doesn't our constitution cover schools too?  Its really the same thing.

Lastly, this brings me to my point of how America is no longer free anymoe, blah blah blah, its fucking bullshit, this countries a complete lie, etc. we need a revolution or I'm moving to Canada.

schools are a much different place then public libraries, know it sucks, but in certain situations it's necessary to do that. although in most, it's not.

Our school now has something called Content Filter which is monitored by various members of the school board. Basically i've tried every single proxy to get around it but every time I find one it's blocked within the day. If you get caught downloading anything you get kicked off the school system for two weeks and if you get caught again its an automatic 1 week school suspension depending on the circumstances.

Our school just blocks stuff, but the program blocks just about everything.  Our school is really gay about games, too.   I almost got kicked off for putting Jibberish in the shared folder last year, and then it was deleted off my personal folder this year, so I put it back on and called the folder "Shortcut to Geometry Folders."

there are very easy ways around this. if you want to get into restricted sites. or just not be watched in every move you make on the internet you can always find a site that is not directly connected to the site you want to be on. but still gets you there without you being watched be the control freaks at you school.

We have that too, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work, cause I've been to erowid.com, looked at porn, nothing seems to flag it.  I'm on NS for 2 full periods a day, and nobodys ever said anything.

hahah our school isnt that sketch bout interent but they get pissed if they catch you off task.

our whole planning class has counterstrike installed on our computers so we play huge lan CS games all class and the teacher doesnt know cause he sits at the front. it makes the class fun. we also have starcraft thats kinda fun to game sometimes...

yea my skools the same way but the cant do shit. my buddy put jibbin up but no one skis in our skool or knows about it so its sick we play constantly. we have gotten kicked off for playing but they cant stop us cuz we have the password to the general admi account where you can download anything
