go to a local university with a film program and ask if you can use their telecine room. If that doesn't work there is a couple places online that do it. None of which I know about but I bet google could tell you.
are you talking about video? because if that is the case you need an anolog to digital converter. if in fact you meant to say 8 mm film then you need to get it telecinied.
You're going to need a telecine lab. You can't just buy some magical device that clips onto your 30 year old camera and copies the film onto your computer.
he's not talking about film he's talking about analog video on an 8mm tape. not 8mm film. All you need is an analog to DV unit most DV camcorders will work for this. just plug the av cables from the 8mm camcorder into the dv cam, make sure video in is on then connect the dv cam to your computer via firewire and capture away
