So i need a head for my tripod.

I just stole my dad's manfrotto tripod and i really need a video head. I was thinking a manfrotto head as well. I have a vx2000 so its got to support the weight and i have about 200-250 to spend. Whats my best bet?Â

503 if you have the scrill for it, 501 if not.

my bad ,that wasnt helpful. those are both by bogen. The 501 is supposed to be pretty good, but supposivily can stick sometimes during pans and tilts. The 503 is said to be smoother. Im not sure, sicne i haven't used either. go to www.dvinfo.net they have lots of info there. I think im gonna get mathews m25, seems solid for the price.

ya well i read some reviews and almost everyone said that the 501(which they have stopped making) was wayyyyy better than the 501 HDV which has taken its place. I. gonna check out some stores and ebay to see if i can find a plane old 501
