hey i have the trouble makerfs and the big trouble skis, and i'm sending back the bindings i had (some racing look 15 din bindings) cuz there to heavy and i don't feel like i need a 15 din setting. ..... so i'm trying to decide which bindings to get in replacement...... i was thinking about those trouble makers coloured and the big trouble coloured ones, becasue i'd imagine that if they're colour cordinated they where probably meant to be used together...... so has anyone skied these that can give me some feedback...?
haha yeah i'm mean they look like good bindings too.... but i guess thats what i'm asking, if anyone has anyfeedback on them.... cuz they are one on the top of the line dynastar/look binders, but i was just wondering if anyone would suggest different ones if they're fragile or anything
well the px12 jib and jib wide (the bindings you're referring to) are
good bindings, just basically px12s with different colors for the
respective skis.
But with your weight, the p15 (or was it a new px15?) might not have been a bad idea to keep. Honestly, don't worry about weight, since it's on your feet basically.
i think people need to stop being big vaginas and complaining about how their bindings weigh so much, no offence, this isnt directed at you, but to ns in general, but yeah at your height and weight those p15/px15s might not have been a bad idea, if you could find an old px14 p 14 you might be happier, but 12 din probably isnt enough, im the same weight, but only 5 10, and ive been at 11 this season, not skiing hard at al,l just bouncing around on boxes and im poping out all over the place
I disagree. I am 6'0", 195lbs, and ride Rossignol race 120, which is an older 12 DIN turntable heel binding. I NEVER pre-release and come out unless it's a rowdy fall and my DIN is set around 7-8.
Granted, bootsole length impacts DIN setting greatly, but cranking a high DIN accomplishes nothing more than setting yourself up for knee surgery if you bail.
hmm wierd, i know exactly what you mean about cranking up the din, im always scared shitless of my toe piece, no vertical release, must have something to do with the way ive been falling laitly, because i am quite possibly the laziest skier, i just cruise thru the park and listen to music
this is exactly how i feel too.... a few years back i used to crank my din down hard as it went, and ended up with a torn ligament in my ankle when my topiece didn't realease.
so i usually keep my din around 9 or 10 and i'm usually chanrging pretty hard and they still only come off when they should
the reson for this thread it that i've heard rumors of the px 12's being easy to break, and i'm wondering if anyone has any proof or disproof of this?
by the way the bindings i had before were the px 15's and i'm still considering keeping them...... i'm basically just being indecisive so i came on ns so someone else could make the desicicion for me ahaha
thanks a bunch for your help man... i'm pretty confindent i'm going to keep the px 15's for my big troubles, but i think that i may still trade the other sent in for a pair of px 14 Ti's or a pair of px 12 jibs.... anyway though, thanks a bunch, you had some good advice
