This question is pretty hard. Dying, even for someone I love more than anything, would be a hard decision to commit to. But if that person did die and I knew that I had once had the opportunity to prevent that from happening, I don't know if I would be able to live with myself. Both choices really suck, the first one because it's kind of stupid to kill yourself for someone else, and the second one because you would feel terribly selfish if you didn't.

this is a riddle/moral type question that was given to our class at school sometime way back. supossedly there is one correct answer you should give. forgive me if i don't type it completely correct....

you're on a boat with three others and it is about to sink. you can save yourself and one other person. you have to decide which other person lives. your child, spouse, or mother? which one?

personally, I would give my life for anyone that I loved or cared about, but that is just me, I know plenty of people that could care less and would never give their life for someone else.

Its also a lot easier to say than to face the possibility, but I would do it.

and to give my answer to the riddle, I would save the kid because of their potential future.

I would say save the child, as she has the rest of her life ahead of her. She would have you, as a father (or mother for females) still around.

If you saved the mother in law she would be absolutely heart broken, losing her daughter and grandaughter.

But how could you not save your spouse? the one that you have vowed to protect, serve, and love, til death do you part?

we were told to save your mother because you can only have one true mother in your life and you should cherish her. you can always have another spouse or another child. i'd personally save my child though.
