War on Terrorism Death Toll

so in the semptember 11th thread the casualtys number was brought up so i decided to do some research and tally the whole war on terrorism casultys, i didnt look for civillians like journalists that got killed in iraq or afganistan cuz they put themsleves there. and these arent exact but close to what the sources say and the sources could always be wrong.

WAR ON TERROISM DEATH TOLL

us civillian deaths: 3,000
us military deaths: 1,000
other coalition deaths: 100-150

total afgan/iraq civillain deaths: 9,100-11,000
total afgan/iraq military killed: almost no information but atleast 10,000 (just thinking logicly) upwards of 150,000

Props to you my friend for going out and showing us. Is it really worth that many deaths the fight this war on terrorism, do you think that killing saddam hussein is going to help you other than oil prices? i doubt it, hes not behind the mayhem. When last has he played a real threat on us? and killing people only makes it worse, if my brother dies, i want vengance not peace. Is it worth killing this many people? for fucks sake, we can still be scared to shit for the media's pumpin useless crap into your head, that big black mans gonna comeinto your house at night and kill you (burglaries are not committed by race, or by saddam hussein, bombings are done by white people in the usa look at history folks big ass problems who do you have to hold responsible, white men. multi national corporations putting children in unclean un safe working environments are run by white men, why is it that we dont want to stop the homeless man from diing in the cold streets of washington, dont want kids half way aroudn the world to be able to live a pleasent life because companies in our own countries are making it shit, but we feel quite comfortable putting out lives at risk, pissing off terrorists, to attack a country with no valid reasons, proof, or motive, OH WAIT, motive, oil. there you have it. someone give me one good reason to take down saddam, letting people in your own country die, when you have bigger battles to be fighting, poverty, crime rate, gun murders.

mike... if u look i said us military killed in afganistan/iraq =1000 there are 337 coalition killed in iraq about 270 or so are american so i totaled that with round 860 us military casultys in afganistan which is alittle over 1000, like i said i wasent being exact.

the begining of the war on terroism started when the trade towers fell, just like perl harbor was meet by us joining in on ww2, the trade towers was met by us bombing them back, so i consider 911 as the biggening of the war.

im not bitching about the people that died on 911 im not bitching at alll actually im just stating the facts. but if i was to bitch it would be that them killing 3000 of our civillians doesnt justify us killing 10000 of theres.

and ur right it doesnt say 110,000 on that site if you read what i said, 'a conservative on real time with bill maher said 110,000'

that like was the only internet source i could find putting out any number to iraqi or afgany military killed. and it put 2500 or something on estimates of iraqi military killed in and around bagdad

thinking logicly (and hoping for sake of honor) we killed more military then we did civillians in iraq and afganistan... seeing that civillians killed are around 10,000 hopefully that would be the base line for military killed.

and thinking we bombed with percision missiles mostly military targets. i would think there would be military casultys way beyond the civillian casultys.

Is this a debate over whether or not we should kill terrorists or whether or not we should have invaded iraq? And saying the war on terrorism took 3000 us civilians that doesnt really make sence. Its kind of like incinuating we provoked them and they attacked us back and lost 3000 civilans. The point of fucking the world up after we get attacked is to show the world what happens when u kill u.s civilans. Does anyone remember World War 2? The Japanese attacked pearl harbor killing ( i have no idea maybe 1000 troops and a few battleships military targets) And what did we do to retaliate? We dropped two Fission bombs with the intention of mass civilian casualties. I think the figure was nearly 125,000 civilans killed in both nagasaki and hiroshima. Not to mention the after effects of radiation poisoning and cancer. I believe this war was to send a message more or less that we care about our people 200x more than we care about one of yours. Yes the japanese attacked first but we struck back in a magnitude you can't even compare to anything but the holocaust.

ice, its a debate over how we value human life as americans, i think we need to stop looking at this world as nothing more then human, were all human and we all have the same right to live.

and ur mistakin about ww2, go back to your history books. when japan bombed perl harbor we declared war (which we havent done since) becase they were a country that just distroyed almost our entire pacific fleet, and had intentions on concuring us (i really dont know about that part)

but what i do know is why we used the atomic bomb. Japan was obviously going to lose, but the japanese mentality was to fight to the death, and that it wasent the weapons that matterd it was the soul of the warrior, they saw death in battle as honorable.

if we were to try to invade japan like we did with france, every last woman and child would fight us, resulting in HUGE Amounts of casultys, im talking hundreds of thousands. fdr wieghd it carefully and did not take the decision lightly, we had the 2 bombs built for some time already and had not used them. the reason they were used was to convince the japanese emporer that fighting us was usless and we could decimate ther contry from the air. we didnt bomb them for retalation but to end the war.

Ice is totally right. The loss of human life is never a good thing, but our government has a responsibility to protect their citizens. By launching this campaingn in the Middle East they're sending a clear message to our enemies that if you target Americans, we're going to come after you.
And Saddam is a threat to the US! Hamas and other terroist organizations are FUNDED by the Iraqi government!

I think we can all agree that world peace can be achieved if these criteria could only be met:

1-Decriminalization of marijuana

2-Criminalization of fat-cat politicians who have the exclusive control of their own salary.

3-Criminalization of lawyers and people's right to sue each other.

4-The notion that white lives are more important than any other.

5-Realization that God is the same idea in every religion.

6-Ban TV.

and canonrider, what I meant by white people being more important was more to the effect of just the Americans being the most valuable lives in the world, even though there is still a lot of belief in this country still that white people hold more value than blacks, but that's a different topic. Sorry to mislead.

the whole liberating iraq is bullshit, yeh it may be that were doing that in the process but we didnt go into iraq to liberate them. we went into iraq for terrorists becuase we got attacked, and the oil prospect didnt seem so bad for bushy boy either.
