Do blisters go away without ripping them open?

alright i was jibbing all day in my old ski boots that are too small and i got the biggest blister in my life on the arch in my foot. Its most likely two and a half inches in diameter. Question is, do i have to rip it open for it to go away or will it just eventually go away by itself. because the pain that occurs when you take showers with an open blister is worse than like getting shot. but seriouslly, any help?

Don't rip it all the way off, just poke a hole in it and drain it so you keep it mostly covered. Blisters suck, sry man

fuck you. i rather not deal with that shit and just enjoy my showers
and to the person above, i thought of that but i think i rather just rip it open or leave i tthen go through that work.
plus the skin is just so tempting to rip

soak it in apple sider vinegar if you want them to go away. I do it for baseball if I bat without batting gloves, stings a lot but the next day there fine basically

definitely just leave it alone! your body will resorb it and it'll be back to normal in a few days

lighter + needle. no im not making you shoot up heroin, just heat the needle and pop the blister, squeeze it so all the shit comes out and the pressure is relieved

The problem with ripping the skin off it is that unlike a blister on your hand, having one on the arch of your foot with shoes on all day means that it won't get much of a chance to breathe and heal.
Ideally drain it, leave the skin intact and bandage that motherfucker till its all good

There is this thing called "2nd Skin", which is a sort of a gel pad that you put over the blister and attach with a band-aid that is simply great. I had a massive blister on my heel and couldn't walk normally, and with that thing it was healed in less than a week because the gel moisturizes it and sanitizes it. You can probably find it at a hiking store or footwear store, maybe a drugstore too.

yeah theyve got it all over the place...drain the blister and then pull off the skin that was covering it, then put on the "2nd skin" stuff and tape it up GOOD (like with duct tape and shit)
if you do it right, it should heal in a day or two...make sure you tape it up solid though and change the dressing once or twice every day...if it's not well taped it will come off when youre walking and hurt like hell and maybe re-blister

You can do it either way. Poping it is quicker though

Yeah, it goes away. The skin then gets hard and you wont have any blisters in that area anymore.

Ripping blisters off is pretty bad. Thats raw skin underneath. It can very easily get infected...especially if you haven't washed your feet after taking them out of your ski boots. The best way to deal with blisters is to take a pin and poke a hole in it. Drain the liquid inside (it's mostly water) and leave the skin on for a couple days before pulling it off.
If you rip the skin off right away the underpart is extremely sensitive since it is raw.

i just leave it and if it rips on its own then so be it. but they normally just go away after a couple days if they dont get irratated too much

i used to get them all the time in soccer and i would poke it with a pin to drain the fluid but keep the skin on to keep it protected. second skin works pretty well as long as it is secured real well other wise that starts rubbing and will irritate it more

Every time I've gotten a blister I just let it break on its own. One time I had a huge one on my foot and it popped when I jumped down from my bunkbed. After it breaks on its own its usually fine.

Oh my god i had this stuff called "New Skin" that I put on after a blister came off. It was like a gel that you put on the area with a brush and it stung SOO bad, and it hurt like fuck until the think healed. God I hated that stuff.
I was 10 at the time though, maybe that had something to do with it.
