i heard on some channel that some volcano in da U.S, if it erupts, the smoke/ash thingie covers up the suns rays and creates a minor-ish "ice age". BUT there's a chance of starvation..i think. any comments?

Woudln't the carbon dioxide content lower the pH levels in the ocean, thus dissolving the shells of all enchinodermic and coral inhabitants???
