are they on their second mount? somewhat looks like it from the pic..

if so, the bindings are a looong way back from where they used to be

Nashbuck is right, those are predrilled holes for a Reactor binding, this is the first mount. Yeah it's far back, but that is the recommended for this ski,  it was 8.5c, back from center on the 179's, so the 186's were probably recommended around 10cm back from center.

Also, not to bust your chops even more than people here already have, but the MSRP on these skis wasn't $800, it was $600.
