Can you get fired from your job because you got robbed

ok so i work at a crappy carwash and it gets robbed a decent amount, my first time was last wednesday and i got robbed again today, so afterwards when the po are there my fucking boss comes and fires me and says its because i got robbed, what the fuck is that about can you even do that shit legally?

well bud i don't no about the legal complication, but that guy is a dick. Considering it wasn't ur fault i've heard of kids filing a drive by at a gas station and keeping the money for themselves. Resulting in getting fired, but not for "getting robbed".

If he fired you because he can't support you as an employee because of being robbed, then he might be able to do that. But if he's firing you because you got robbed personally then that should be illegal. Tell your parents and for real get legal counseling. You might be able to sue the shit out of this guy.

I know that that is totally illegal in larger companies, where the income is higher.... but in a place like a car wash.... I think that he has full right to do that, hes just being a huge cunt scab in firing you..... you should write something mean in the dirt on his windshield

Where do you live because some states are "At will" states were you can be fired for no reason. You usually have to sign a contract acknowledging this. I know where I live, Illinois is an at will state.
