Kirkwood opening?

First full year out here - are they going to give more than like 5 minutes notice about opening?

I'm trying to make plans for after thanksgiving, but the kirkwood website is pretty short on opening information.

They should be open, but who knows how much will be there...

Nobody got anything out of this storm, and I know kirkwood doesnt have some huge snowmaking capacity like Boreal does... Who knows...

yeah...i guess east coast mountains seem to be a little better about keeping you posted on their websites about opening...

not counting boreal with constant updates on here

I don;t think ant of the resorts really want to advertise the fact that they are missing opening dates because of warm temps and rail.... Should have listened to Al gore, thats why he invented the internet; to tell everyone gobal warming was coming and now it's too late!!!!!

I was at Kwood yesterday. Looks like they tried to blow some snow, but grim indeed. Hopefully the next week comes through as promising as it looks. I'll take just about anything right now.

how hard would it be to find a place to stay in kirkwood and do a season etc. i'm currently in heavenly and i reckon the terrain is way to gayper friendly for a whole season..

you know when even if you land a cliff perfectly the addrenaline and impact make you feel like you've been in a really satisfying car wreck.. i need those cliffs, although for me a 20 footer still does that

there are only a few good drops @ heavenly, good skiing though.  If you are looking to scare the crap out of your self go to kirkwood.  I would ski both if i were you.

there are a few drops @ kirkwood that are pretty frikin gnarly. Mostly stuff in the cirque.

Well no shit the cirque is crazy as hell...

but you cant legally ski that thing until the resort closes, am I right?

either that or you remarkably get ski patrol to allow you in there...

I dont know... maybe someone will be freaked out by the Wall or something.. it can just about be vertical for a little bit at the top...

I know that mountain too well though, So I guess my earlier claim is a tad biased.

you are correct, its still legally.

I too know every little spot on that mountain i have only skied there since i was like 5.
