Sadly dissapointed, here's why:
1. Character focus. I wanted to see a movie about ass kicking robots. Instead I got a movie about stupid kids and their cheesy love story, which happened to feature asskicking robots. Fuck the kids, I wanted Optimus Prime developed as a real character.
2. Action scenes. Though the graphics were sick, the camera work was way too shaky and spastic for my liking. I kept thinking about the poor animators who worked so hard on these models just to have them filmed so quickly you could barely see what was going on.
3. Rascism. I'm a Bernie Mac fan, and I was dissapointed in him for playing that lowlife car salesman who hollers at his momma in the yard. And there's no defending a breakdancing robot named 'Jazz' who happens to be the only character killed, and after a brief and emotionless memorial by Optimus is completely forgotten about.
4. General chessyness, stereotypicality, and predictability. Speaks for itself i guess.
Nothing but a generic hollywood movie fitting nicely into every stereotype and prototype available. A disgrace to the greatness of the original series.
