and another DIN question but everyone has a different ski ability and boot size

Height: 5'6''

Weight: 150 lbs

Sole Length: 290 mm

do you ski mostly park? how good are you?  with just hight and weight nobody can make a good  accurate prediction.

and i ski loon so the kickers are like 50ft tables and the rails are nothing big but i dont want my skis to pop off on impact of landing and dont want knees to snap

use whatever your DIN was set at by the shop who mounted your skis. If you're sill coming out, just crank it up half a notch until you're satisfied.

when my shop mounted my skis they put them at like 6 or something ridiculous. but yea just guess and bring a screwdriver so you can mess around with it till you like it. and i'm not sayin 6 wont work for you, i'm 180 pounds...

Yeah man, exact same thing for me. I just slowly crank 'em up. They set me at like 6 1/2. But for some people the shop settings will be perfect. The do it for a reason.

If you call yourself a type 3 skier then on bindings such as Rossi axials, you could set your DIN at 8, otherwise type 2 skier, you would be looking at 6.5

The shop set me bindings at a 6, I put them to a 7, and now I have that at an 8. Just pretty much crank then a .5 until your happy.

if you are a good skier, id say 10. that is my preference for the beginning of the year.

haha the shop put my din at 5 on the last skis i got and i eventually had to crank them up to 9 so dont always trust the shop

I am 5' 9" and 125 lbs with a 306mm boot sole, and I just cranked mine up one notch to 6. They seem to be fine now.

It's not the shops choice - they have a responsibility to set DIN according to standards given to them by the binding manufacturer.

Skiers are allowed to have discretionary settings, but from a liability point of view, shops really need to adjust bindings according to manufacturers specifications. Rarely will a shop crank your bindings for you and then let you walk out without getting you to sign something waiving ALL liability in the case that you break your leg

^^^^ wow i wish i could ride at such low din as you guys.. im like 6'0 200 pounds type 3 skier and i ride at least on 10 up to like 12 but i really dont like my skis coming off unless its a real burly crash

you really need to talk to a certified tech, they'd be able to tell you what the next level you might want to step up to is, messing with your bindings without knowing proper DIN settings isn't a good idea. It's also possible that it may be your bindings, if they're a low performance beginer to intermediate binding then that may be a factor.

this is deff the safest way to go...nuthins woarse then over tightning then crashing hard and blowin a knee cause ur bindings dont come off
