Soup kitchen assignment

so ive been assigned by my diversity teacher to go eat at a soup kitchen with the people who cant afford food. no i am not helping serve i am simply going there and eating. i find this totally disrespectful to the people who actually need to eat there. what do you guys think

it would make a lot more sense to help out. I've helped out before and you can really get the feel of what it's like just by going around and seeing people. plus you're adding to the effort and not just taking the food that they need to survive.
