Center mount ripping

walls have symmetricalm sidecut, so you mount them true center for optimum performance in the park and all mountain.

yea if i were to get a pair i would def mount them center i was just wondering if center mount skis are harder to actually ski on outside of the park, rather then a normal ski that is set back farther

i think im just a center mount guy but my salomon 1080's and armada ar5's work well for all mountain shralping...but thats just me, and if its a symetrical ski i would go center for sure.

For steeps and moguls and trees, yeah, It's harder. Carving is fine, though.
Think, there's more tail to have to move, or that can catch on snow, so it makes it harder. Carving is just to do with the sidecut, which is optimal in the center on walls anyways.

I've never skiied much on other skis, but I find it plenty fun to rip out of the park on my skis which are -2 from center... even true center works fine unless you race a lot and are used to mounting farther back then it'd probably annoy you.

good idea, I have a centermounted pair of rossignol scratches that I use only for park, and 4frnt msp's mounted -4 from center (+2 from recommended) that I use for ripping and occasionally kickers.

what year are ur 1080's cause some of them dont work very good centermounted (the swing for spins is terrible)

im not sure if anyone cares, but just to throw this out there...lots of new skis come with markings on them that say "center" "true center" and things of that sort...and yesterday at work we actually measured a bunch of them and only one or two actually measured out to be the true center of the ski....does this marking mean something else like the center of the mount plate or what?

k i am fuckin lost in this thread...are u sayin that for the best possible all mountain preformance you should center mount? becasue that is the most retarded thing i have ever heard.

it seems like there is only 1 decent statement in this thread...

center+powder=not good.

03-04's...but some people put a little too much enphasis on swing weight...they dont seem to bother me much..

That's generally core center. Core center being the place where the flex and sidecut are centered.
True center is the actual center point of the ski.
If the ski says true center on it, it should be the right place...

I ride my punx all mountain and I love it.  it feels like I'm on a snowboard. trees and steeps arnt harder, just different.  you have to have your weight in a different spot.  and as long as you are on a long enough ski, you'll be fine.
