Armada T-Halls vs. Armada El-Rey

i am deciding between those 2, but the T-Halls are the ones, i think from last season, with the Scarface theme. do they hav metal edges? i was watching a vid and they (maybe Hall, or someone) said that for this year they are putting metal edges in? what?  did they not have them before. i need something good in park and good for all-mountain, so i decided to decide my final decision between these 2 final decisions. anybody help?

oh well think i should go for them over the El-Reys for all around? this is my newest and best way to describe wat i will be riding, 50% park, 15% groomed, 15% powder (if i go anywhere big), 20% everything else in between and what not.

no the el-rey is armadas all-mountain ski so if thats what youre looking for, the el-rey would be a better choice. and im not sure about the metal reinforcement for the t-halls.

As far as I know El Rays are a price point ski.  The T-halls will definitely be better quality and shoul dbe good for groomers and whatnot and they are awesome in park from what I've heard.

If you were skiing strictly park I would say get the T-Hall, but since you want to do all mountain stuff, the El Rey is way more balanced for all types of skiing.  Check out the charts on the armada website. 

Here's one of the few reviews that I've found of the El Rey:

A surprise winner in our ski tests last spring- the new El Rey twin-tip may have the best price to performance ratio of any of the 07-08 skis. It’s versatility, ease of use, and overall performance compare to much more expensive skis. Armada may have been influenced by K2’s success selling the Public Enemy park ski as a stealth all-mountain for performance skiers on a budget, which we have to admit is a welcome trend.
The El Rey is what you’d expect from a twin-tip built by a company with a definite freestyle and park orientation- light, forgiving, with an easy and bouncy flex. What surprised us was it’s solid feel, stability, and predictability- not what you expect from the category or the price point. The El Rey tracked well on bumpy hardpack, had good edgehold yet easy skid-ability, and kept cool at speed. Also surprising- this ski doesn’t have that short tip/long tail feel that plagues many twin-tip, which suggests that it will work better in soft snow than the others.
At the price point, compare to the K2 PE and Line Anthem, but the El Rey matches up well with any other park-capable twin on the market.

Well, it's not the Anthem or the PE that are the other price point skis, but yeah, go with the El-Rey. Either that or the higher quality version, the Ar6.
The T-Hall is a park specific ski. Likely too soft, and different flex, for all mountain riding.

However, I haven't skied on either, so this is just what I've heard.

i guess the AR6, but i hav no idea how i'm gunna convince my dad to get me skis that cost 500$, wen i am juts getting bak into it, but i'll try. actually now that i think of it, he prolly let me buy them cuz he knows i want to do park riding so shit skis wouldnt hold up.

no, its what elan did with their twin tip line up. they put a "third edge" in underfoot to help make the ski more durable for rails and such.

but for what u want i would say that the el ray is fine for you. u dont seem to strong of a skiier but no beginer. so i would get the el ray and leave it at that.

and i think the afore-mentioned skis (the blue ones with the yellow stripes) are this years armada ar6's in a 171

out of these two skis...i really wouldnt wanna see you on the thalls from what you described as what you wanted.


the thalls are a mega buttery park ski which is in no way shape or form an all mountain ski. the torsional flex of this ski is similiar to a 8.5x12'' sheet of white paper. so it wont give you much of an edge hold.

el ray is going to be a much better ski for you. stiffer, better edge hold, but stills pwns mad bitches in the park.

also look at line chronics, briges, karmas(if u can find em) but those are all stiffer skis mind you, MUCH stiffer than the el ray.

um...fujatives arnt bad all mountain, but i havent really heard anything about the el ray's yet besides what ive read and they are suposte to be a all mountain do everything ski, kinda like a more narrow ARV..

El ray: Price point, do everything ski. can ski what ev u want but dont expect the best performence

T-hall: a more specific/expensive ski. will absolutly rape the EL ray in the park but dont know about the rest of the mountain

no. the fujative has a similar torsoinal flex to the thall. meaning shit for everything other than park.

i honestly feel like everyone is taking crazy pills like WHAT THE FUCK.

FUJATIVES AND THALLS ARE NOT GOOD OUTSIDE THE PARK. THEY ARE PARK SKIS. PPPPPAAAAARRRRRKKKKKKKK SKIIIISSS.

t halls are light and soft basically all park, even though they can leave with out sucking,

i thought that my 04-05 fujatives wernt bad for a all mountain ski as well, sure its not the best at all for all mountain but its kinda like a honda car, its cheap and works decent in everything..

none of the skis mentioned (with minor exception of the AR6) are able to be remotely classed as all-mountain skis..they are all too soft.

If all you ever ski are soft park skis then you won't know the difference, but get on something stiffer and you will be able to tell straight away when you are able to hold a good edge on hardpack snow.

The El Rey is actually stiffer than the AR6 so it's a better all mountain ski.  That's what it was constructed as.

ya the funjatives suprisingly hold thier own out of park, but they are still definitely a park ski.

or some K2 Public Enemy's. a sports store near my house has them for 485$ with marker 11.0 bindings. thats Canadian. K2 fujatives over those with Rossi Scratch 120 binding?

the PE's are gunna be stiffer, more all-mountain ski...fujatives are still pretty good ski and i personally like rossi bindings more than marker, but i herd the new marker jesters and dukes rule..
