I had acne hit me out of nowhere my 2nd semester of freshman year in college and it sucked. I never thought any of the stuff that people recommended worked at all. It just didn't do anything. Accutane on the other hand did work, thank god. But your lips will get real chapped and you can get kinda moody on it sometimes. At first the mood thing was overlooked by the medicine industry but now that my little brother is taking it too, it is a government regulated drug and he has to go through a much more extensive process in refilling his prescription. The blood tests get annoying too but hey you gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette right??

I had bad acne back in high school. i was on accutane for about 6 months. Worked awesome.
3-4 years later, I occasionally get a few on my chin, but Clean & Clear gel takes care of it right away.
I experienced no side effects at all. I always carry chapstick anyways, so the lips weren't a big deal.
No regrets at all.

did you just use Proactiv alone? that's like treating cancer with only one treatment (and, yes, i'm comparing acne to cancer- it won't kill you, but it can be fucking terrible to deal with when it's bad). that's why i said i used Accutane orally, Proactiv as a topical solution, and Retin-A for problems. i didn't just use Proactiv and i didn't just use Accutane. maybe i had shit a lot worse than you or anyone you've known (very possible), but when i used Proactiv in conjunction with Accutane, i saw results in almost half the time both medications claimed you'd see results. i didn't say to use just one or another, i recommended medications i had used with EACH OTHER that worked. before you just write me off as someone who doesn't know what they're talking about, why don't you actually read my post? i dealt with this shit for almost ten fucking years and Accutane with Proactiv is what cleared everything up. thanks for trying to tell me what's up, but i think i'd know better than your dumb ass what cleared up my own acne.
