alright i got new skis and now am getting new bindings. My skis are 86 wide and the bindings im lookin at only go to 80......How shitty are my brakes going to work if i just bend em out? And anyone know where i can get some wide brakes or sellin em for look px 12's?
i have never bent them out before and I no that most shops wont do it for you due to liability reasons(I already tried it at my local shop) I got wide brakes for my px 12 jibs at TTN(twin tip nation) you cant get them pritty much anywhere. just type in px12 wide brakes on google. TTN was really good tho got them in like a week i recomend checking them out.
just bend them, 6 mm is so easy.....i actually bent 80mm rossi brakes to fit prophet 130's, and they work fine. i know at mammoth they'll bend em for ya......just take two cut down poles.......just the handle and a few inches of the metal, stick them around the brake ends and pull out, it really shouldn't even be hard at all
Wide brakes will be huge on an 86mm waist, just bend them out. 3mm on each side will be really easy to do, just use a broken ski pole or the end of a crecent wrench once they're on the ski.
yah a broken ski pole works...i just had to get some new ones for my salomon 9-16 bindings and it was a pain in the ass to find them...im from breck and a shop here in town hookedit up. it took them a couple weeks to find any thou
my shop modified my px12 brakes to fir on my scratch BCs witch has a 98 waist...im not exactley sure what they did but I think they shaved about half of the plastic/rubber on the inside of the brake and prob bent them a little 2
