Now that the video has been released to the public ( http://www.cbc.ca/mrl3/8752/bc/ondemand/video/YVRTASERVIDEO.wmv ) and there is no question in my mind that the RCMP acted improperly. Whether their actions were a result of improper training or a premeditated decision to taser, the video is a testament to their a flawed decision system. Furthermore, RCMP on the record dismissed initial witness accounts and portrayed the event much diffrently. This attests to a willingness of the police to LIE to protect themselves. This places into question all RCMP actions under questionable circumstances, including the shooting death on Granville recently. In effect, this video shows that:
- RCMP have an ineffective decision system that results in DEATH of innocent people
- RCMP are willing to LIE to cover their ass
- RCMP cannot be trusted to investigate themselves
- RCMP past actions and statements are now suspect
