Video Camera help!

Alright so i have been wanting to purchase my own video camera, and i have searched through some threads on here and been all over the web and after seeing a bunch of NS'ers recommendations and reading internet reviews i think i have decided on the Panasonic PV-GS320 3 CCD model...

so i have been looking at package deals and such, and on deal i found comes with a couple of lenses a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens...

my question to you guys is do any of you use a wide angle or telephoto much? and i know how a wide angle works but does it make the footage more interesting? i would just like some input on all of that. :)

Also does anyone use fliters? UV filters or anything?

wide angles help a lot, the shots are a lot wider. not sure what brand your looking at, might be a not soo good one. Kenko makes a sick wide, for about 30 bucks.

UV filters are attachable to protect your lens, the last thing you want is something to hit your lens and crack it, so let a UV lens get cracked instead of your lens.

Before you purchase online, check the store on www.resellerratings.com to see what people think of it.  If it is one of those packages on ebay, don't get it.  The stuff in the package sucks and I'm not even sure that it's legit.

how about certain accessories like lenses and such?

i can't seem to find universal lenses that will be compatible with panasonic cameras, for some reason i only find sony and canon ones...hmm.

I belive the threads on your camera are 37mm?  If so then there are lenses that will work.  Go to www.skateperception.com for quick answers.  Also try www.snowperception.com.  If you want a good fisheye get the Babydeath lens....idk though i'm not an expert.  Wait for more replies and check those sites.

Also, that Babydeath lens is a fisheye which  creates distortion.  You want a wide angle correct?  If so then I'm not sure of the best lens for it.  I think there is a lens by the name or brand of Kenko that is a fisheye.  Just go to the websites i mentioned earlier and look around. and search.

i know a few people have it, ot sure on their thoughts. Curtis Buldoc has it, PM him, dunno his NS name though.

I'm pretty sure a Kenko is a fisheye which creates the distortion which I believe you said you did not want.  I'm not sure though.  Curtis's name is OrangeJackal (not the exact name but it's close to that).  Just try http://www.skateperception.com and look around first.  Then if you have more questions, ask it in the lenses section.
