Oh man.... ok here we go! Because you're a newb, and don't know any better, I'll be nice to you.
We can't simply conceive the right binding for you because we know nothing about you. Do you not realize that there are many different bindings for many different uses? It is almost all dependent on your weight, skiing ability, and discipline. With this we will be able to tell you if you need a high or lower DIN binding, or one made out of metal instead of plastic, shock absorbers etc. Just like skis and boots, there are higher and lower end products to suit a person's specific needs, so LET US KNOW THEM. Your best bet is to probably go to your local ski shop and talk to them, since you are obviously so out of the loop that you need to come onto NS and ask people on here. Assess your own skill level and go from there. It's not that hard, really.
Pretty much any 12 din binding as long as its not an older marker should do fine. Look and rossi are pretty universal when it comes to bindings, but 4frnt is right there as well.
Not only that, but the model of ski would help. Is it the 05/06 model, or the more recent models. As they have different dimenstions, that could determine the difference between standard and wide brakes.
just because im new on ns doesnt mean im new to skiing. i was just wondering what bindings anyone has liked because i hated my salomons i had last year. i weigh 170 and ive been skiing since i was 3.
Yes.....thats all well and good. I could reccommend a Look P18, but that might be overkill. I could reccommend a Look P10, but that might not have a high enough DIN.
Salomon as a brand doesnt make one binding, they make many models. The "Salomons" you had might have been a less durrable model. Almost every brand makes bindings ranging from DINS as low as 0.5 all the way to 16, 18, and 20. To accurately suggest a binding, your height, weight, skill level, and previous bindings you have disliked/liked. We will also need a model of the bindings you liked/disliked as "salomons" are far to vague.
With a ski as soft as the T-Hall, you MAY want something with a wider screw pattern, as in Look (Px12,Px14,P10,P12) or the rossignol equalivent, 4FRNT Deadbolts, Salomon Z12, or Z10, and there are MANY more.
Supplying us with your DIN range will also help.
I personally will only purchase the Rossignol FKS 120/Look equalivent from now on. I love how solid they are.
