Saturday the 27Th of October I went to a special event held in Quebec city. It
was the first premiere of the first movie produced by a local guy, Nick Fayos.
The movie is called Beefstack and it showcases great urban and park stunts
filmed around the area. And I have to admit that's a nice beginning for a young
production company. Around 200 persons came and they were almost all there for
his movie. Few peoples knew that Beaver Tale was going to be played that night.
Nick had an accident a week before the event. He broke his arm and some teeth
during an early season jib. So he did not have time to make changes on the flyer
and announce both movie. Anyway, it was a nice event and it probably made everybody happy for what they paid. Did I forget the price? Only 5$...
It's fun to see that the scene in Quebec is still growing. New players comes to the game
and this year has been particularly active. At least 6 production companies
released a project and they all worked hard to organise events all around the
province. Only in the last 3 weeks there has been at least 4 different events. Finally,
next weekend there will be the Newwayproduction premiere and the
FFNSS festival. So, I
hope that some of you will put that on their agendas!
The crowd during the movies.
Phil Porlier and Guyaume Lachance were the MCs for the night!
The most famous pirate of NS, Cédric Tremblay-Fournier. And on his left, the
Quebec representative of Armada, Phil
Warren.
Many people went to the bar after the event and Benoît Cormier form MLP was one
of them.
