Listening to music w/ a helmet on

how do ppl reccomend listening to music whith a helmet on while skiing,  last year i bought a pair of giro tuneups but they got pretty uncomfortable and strated to hurt my ears aftert a while - i tried using some apple earbuds early this year but they fell out of my ears fairly easily and also werent the most comfortable

while i would much rather wear a pair of skullcandys and a beanie, i really need my brian bucket so any tips on comfortable headphones and the such that would fit under a helmet would be great

I use the red hi fi helmet with the skullcandy earflaps but they do get uncomfortable at the end of the day

is not hard...use those new itunes earphone things...those are comfy and they fit easily

oh apple is itunes...well they work for me, and i like them cuz if i use buds, i cant hear surrounding sounds and warnings, so i use those cuz they let in some noise from the outside.

ya i gues the earbuds are alot beter than the tuneups but still im looking for something more comfortable

I use the tune-ups. The mute button is nice.  I think they are pretty good. 

To bad you don't like them though.  Much better then using earbuds or headphones, imo.  The mute feature is very useful, where you have to pull out the bud to hear.

try using some of those earbuds that have a little plastic piece that goes over the back of you ear. i use those sometimes...but not i have tuneups and i like those. i have some sony ones kind of like this:

If they were hurting your ears they must not be in right.  I have the G10mx with the tune-ups and they never hurt

I also had this problem and just modded my helmet with speakers.  I cut open the ear flaps and slip in some headphone speakers i tore out of some beanie and then sewed it back up, they work awesome now.

ya i think i mite just try making my own headphones for my helmet - i have an extyra pair of earflaps so we'll see how it works

I did something similar to Dirty_drew. I have the Bad Lt. helmet, and on a friends advice, took a pair of shitty old plastic headphones, broke the speaker parts off so it was just the speakers and wires. The mesh circle in the middle of the earflaps pops in pretty easily (its just glued as far as i remember) so i popped the speaker bits into there so the wires come out, sewed them up a bit and they work great, and if you ever fuck up the wiring (i did) they're super easy and cheap to replace. I find them super comfy too.

I dunno how tune ups were uncomfortable they are the same as the normal ear pieces...

so i figured it out.. i took my old tuneups and fitted some extra foam in there, before the headphones were too close to my ears so hopefully this will solve the problem

doesn't skull candy make some in-ear buds.  They might do the trick for you.

Tune-ups are dope. Maybe you got a shitty helmet so it has shitty earpads

how are tuneups uncomfortable? they are the same thing as the normal earpads except they have speakers in them...

the problem i had was the tuneups for my nine-nine were pretty thin and not really well made so i stopped using them cause they started to buzz my ears - kinda like the feeling you'd get from wering headphones for six-seven hours straight, i added some more foam and padding to the ear pad tho so now i think they'll work fine

if you have an old pair of headphones, it shod be pretty easy to make your own tuneups
