Yeah.. that's right.. I just made my beer pong table. Take a look.
So it all started with just a blank white piece of melamine, the best material for making a table.. (It is a little heavy though).
Here's my roommate getting his ass kicked... the only decent shot of the table as just a blank board.
So I started planning and taping last night... I took a picture of most of the steps just for fun.
As you can see, I used CD's to make the perfect circles for the free-throw lines and the center line. Painters tape is the best material to make lines.
Obviously you can't work a project without a bit of Hookah and a Sunshine Wheat.
My neighbors came over for a Jam session while I worked. It was nice to have that. You can see i've finished taping an entire side...
Here's the final taped product ready to go to paint. I ran out of blue painters tape and had to resort to the red duct tape... oh well.
So here I hauled it into the garage and got to painting the black lines.
The next morning, I woke up and removed the tape and paper... fresh black lines.. mmm.
Note the Vail and Beaver Creek stencils I had made the night before and tested out a few times.
Here's the stencils dueling on the center line, I made them out of Thick magazine covers.
Well... I had to tape those down and add cover paper... then get the paint out. Here they are drying.
And here's the final product, Vail vs. Beaver Creek. If you've lived in the Valley, you'd know the logic behind why I chose these two resorts.
I'm using stools right now, until we can figure out an easy, and good looking, way to make some legs.
I'm also going to strip and redo the Vail logo.. It didn't turn out as well as I'd like it to be.
Play Ball!
