end of story, if you want a bunch of nice colors and shit paint them your self. Take my advice and stick to the $20 ones or jack your self some rental poles because those things are made to take a beating

i'd just buy a cheap pair and paint them myself because spending 70 bucks on a pair of poles if ridiculous

Wrong. I used to think that too and just buy the cheapest I could get. I'd snap at least one pair per season. Then a few years ago I did a shopo order with Dynastar and wrote "130cm poles" on the form just so I'd get their cheapest. Well they sent me top of the line carbon poles, I thought I'd snap them pretty quickly but they've lasted me about 150 days now, taking harder falls than I have in the past. There's a few slight splinters but they're holding strong. Plus you can paint non-metal poles really esily.

yo man buy some scott poles... those things are bomb-proof... i had one pair for 2 seasons and are still straight through some hard falls and then i bought some punishers last year and they hold up really well

just get a shit pair and paint them whatever color u want. and when they break get another shit pair. poles are poles. no technology in them. dont waste ur money.

First of all, you "Poles are poles" guys are just plain ignorant.  If you want bulky, unbalanced poles that you will no doubt bend or break every other odd landing, go for it.  Second of all, any aluminum shaft pole will bend or break, the end.  I've gone through way too many pairs of poles, cheap to expensive.  The ultimate poles, unfortunately enough are no longer made.  If you have some luck, you may be able to find some, ICE-USA, formely out of Park City.  100% solid carbon shafts.  To my knowledge, no one else makes poles like that nowadays.  I've heard some good things about the higher end K2 carbon poles, 6-speeds like was mentioned above, as well as some of the higher end Goode carbon poles.  Poles are not just poles.  If you ski the mountain and rely upon quality equipment, invest in some good poles that you won't have to replace annually.

I personally like the grips on the Scott poles, and they lasted me 2 seasons of riding park.  The only reason I don't have 'em anymore is cause I left them at a hill during a demo day for work :(

i've heard they are great, and I was gonna get them, but they are kinda expensive ($75).  and your gonna have to get them cut to size which might end up costing you even more at a local shop.  i ended up going with cheaper poles

you can get 4frnt poles for 45 bucks if your a college student, cheaper than scott and i think they are really high in quality, im picking up teh 47inch ones for this season

he is right my friend had a pair of those and it got caught on a tree tree skiing i sware it bent in half but when we got on the lift you couldn't tell
