Fujative fuck up

I gave my new fujatives to a local shop to be mounted. I specifically told the guy to mount them true center, but when I picked up the skis they were mounted core center. now my question is will i benefeit from getting them remounted at true center or just leave them the way they are. or should i just go ballistic and demand to be compensated?

Get them remounted for free. It's your fault for not explaining what you meant by true centre and making sure that was written down on the form clearly.

You should have marked true centre with tape or a sharpie so there would be no excuse why they werent mounted correctly. Its your fault. Bring them back and explain to them you asked for true centre. You should always make sure that the tech understands what you would like done.

happened the exaclty same thing to me.. i went for some nonpark skiing my first skidays and then i grabbed some epoxy glue and remounted them myself 0,5cm from true center

just go in and say the skis are useless unless they are true center.  say it is way hard for you to slide rails and there is a ton of swing weight in the air.  make them give yuo what you paid for the skis for like in store credit.

that doesnt seem like a very good idea. i know you want to have the skis mounted where you wanted them but using epoxy with no screws is just asking to rip your bindings out of the ski

sounds like he specifically told the guy to mount them TRUE center tho. Its still always a good idea to write it down so if they do fuck up, their at 100% fault.

You definately should get free skis out of that. Bitch at them until they replace them. You specified you wanted them at true center and they mounted them at the wrong place. If you remount them to true center it kills the resale value of the ski. The shop should be buying you new skis.

I would just leave them at core center, unless you just ski park. I have some 05/06 PEs and they are mounted +5. I can ski switch on them good, rails are not a problem, spinning is a little off. i think they are better all mountain that way too.

Unless you ski 100% park and plan to be competing in big events and think that that extra few milimeters will really help your switch skiing that much more, then sure, ask the shop to give you something back to compensate.
But It's a bitch move to complain just because they mounted your skis at a place where it works almost as well...in fact, better for going forwards.

True centre is +5 from core centre, it will make a pretty big difference.

Go back in on a quiet day, be polite and tell them it's not what you asked for and they'll remount for free. You need to understand that a lot of shops have no idea about some modern freeski trends and terms.

i agree that it is a problem and there was an agreament in the form of a work order, but free skis is a major stretch.  The shop I work at if we fuck up the mount the employee pays for it, we give a free remount and some store credit

On most k2s, true center is +9.5 from core center. 

it wil affect your riding IMO. you can get used to it, but there's definately a noticable difference.

On Silencers, PEs, Fujatives, Seths and AKs, core is +7.5 and true is +12.5.

Whats do u mean? He said true centre. I dunno about you but i expect a tech to know what there doing. If they dont know what true centre is they shouldnt be a tech. They do a course for a reason.

I see in no way how its your fault. At the VERY least they should remount for free

why did you even accept them?
should have told them right then they weren't mounted where you wanted.

bring them back, if the shop is decent at all they'll remount them for free.

i took my trouble makers in to be mounted, told the guy "can i get these centered" - "sure" they take them to the back and i'm watching through this little window from the store to the shop, and the tech guy is like "where its marked centre on here isnt really centre, want me to measure and set them up actual centre?" - "allright" so he did it. usually they hassle me about centering my skis but this time they stepped it up and helped me out. it was sick. but about your skis, you might be able to wrangle them into re-mounting them for free. but how far off is what you want from where they put it? is it worh re-mounting your skis?

I called the shop and they said that they couldnt legally mount the skis past core center because there isnt a plate inside the ski. I still think that they should have called me before they mounted the skis.

this time of season there are so many bindings to install no tech in the world will measure especially when k2 has a graph on the side of the ski, and unless you are in the know, you know its off by a few cm.  so when you said center you should've marked where you wanted the bindings to be.  you should expect a remount, but as far as anything else goes, i wouldn't expect anything, escpecially if you didn't buy the skis there.  it's just as much your fault as the techs

The same damn thing just happened to me with my new 07 trouble makers, but i made it clear that i wanted the same amount of tip than tail!!! i was and still am pretty fucken pissed, i talked to tech that mounted them and he said because of the metal mounting plate in them any farther forward than he did he might miss it?? also the reinforced edges that they come with would not be under my boot, which was the only reason that i didnt blow up when he told me that, what would you all do? anyone ski these center mounted??

Always measure for every mount, whether it's true centre or on the line.

well actually the shop cant mount mount the bindings at true center because there is no plate for the screws to go into. tThey said that they cant legally mount them there but they mounted them without telling me. if they had called me I wouldnt have gone through with it. Oh well.
