im going skiing for the first time ths year tomorow. it will be the first time skiing after tearing my acl. my din was at around 8 before, and i want to know what a shop would recmond me, because i still dont feel fully comfortable with my knee yet and even though i will be taking it easy, i want to be careful. im a litle over 5'3 and im 135 lbs
You should work your way back up throughout the season. I'm 5'8" and 135 lbs. I ride on DIN 8 or 8.5, still to be determined for my new skis. But on my park/groomer/messing around skis I have an 8. You should be on 6.5-7 for first day since tearing the ACL, then gradually go up to 7.5 or 8, depending on how hard you ride and how comfy you feel ripping it your knees.
I will continue to argue this. I have no idea why kids crank their bindings so high. I'm 6'2 and 160 pounds and i blew my knee whne my DIN were at 8. Getting hurt sucks, I'd rather pop out.
